What You Need to Know about Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees

An overdraft occurs when the available balance in your account is insufficient to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

We have standard overdraft practices that come with your account.
We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a savings account, LOC or Visa, which maybe less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. To learn more, ask us about these plans.

This notice explains our standard overdraft practices, also referred to as our Bounce Protection Program.

What are the standard overdraft practices that come with my account?

We do authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
Automatic bill payments

We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to:

ATM transactions
Everyday debit card transactions (Point of Sale transactions)

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

What fees will I be charged if Robins Financial Credit Union pays my overdraft?

Under our standard overdraft practices:

We will charge you a fee of $25 each time we pay a check, ACH or other item not listed below.
We will charge the following fees for ATM and everyday debit card transactions (Point of Sale transactions):

$25.00 for transactions that exceed the available balance by $50.01 or greater

There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.

What if I want Robins Financial Credit Union to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday debit card transactions?

If you also want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions, check the box to opt in to the optional service. NOTE: Your Opt-In decision will not be effective until your account meets all of the eligibility requirements for our standard overdraft practices (Bounce Protection). This means your decision will not be effective until your account has been open at least 90 days (and may not be effective until shortly after the end of the third full calendar month following the month your account was opened). Transactions that exceed your available balance prior to eligibility for Bounce Protection will be declined.

Should you change your mind and decide you no longer want to have your ATM and everyday debit card transactions authorized and paid, you may revoke your authorization at any time by calling 478-923-3773 or 800-241-2405, visiting any branch, or mailing your revocation to 803 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA 31093. You will still be responsible for any fees charged prior to your revocation effective date.
